Our publication information identifies the publisher, and our contact route provides a way to raise privacy questions. This edition does not include reader accounts or newsletter forms. The hosting service may process ordinary request information, such as an IP address and the requested page, to serve and secure the site. Source photographs are served from this site so reading an article does not automatically request its image from the client website.

Our transparency information and site terms provide more context about this publication. Google Analytics is available only after you choose Allow analytics. It helps us understand visits to general-interest pages. Before that choice, the site does not load the Google tag or send Analytics requests. Your choice is valid for 180 days. The saved preference can remain in browser storage until you change it or clear site data. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change it; choosing No analytics stops this site's Analytics collection and removes its Analytics cookies. Browser privacy signals also prevent optional Analytics from loading.

This site's tag omits URL query strings and fragments, disables advertising features, and is excluded from sensitive-subject articles. We do not send contact messages, form answers, account identifiers, or health information to Analytics. Links and contact messages
Our source attribution standards and correction instructions describe why articles link to other sites. Following an external link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices. Messages sent through the publisher’s contact options are handled by that service. Do not include sensitive personal or account information in a correction request.
